Inside a listing
One page, three authors, and only one of them made you a promise
A PonyBuy product page looks like a single document. It is not. The title, the photographs, the colour names, the size bands, the stock count and the weight fields all come from the seller. The disclaimer, the message box, the image upload and the two buy buttons come from PonyBuy. The English you are reading came from a machine.
Sorting the page into those three groups is the whole skill. It tells you which sentences are worth arguing about later and which ones were never anyone promise.
The page we are describing
This is a real product page, captured on 2026-08-04. Working across it: a photo strip with Find Similar underneath, a purchase record block, four size buttons, seventeen colour thumbnails, a quantity box with the stock the seller claims, a message field, an image upload, a disclaimer, and the two buy buttons.
Seventeen things sold as one listing
Seventeen colour thumbnails sat on this one listing. Some of them show the garment, some show a flat lay, and a few carry Chinese text printed over the picture. At thumbnail size several of them look the same.
The order records exactly one of them, by name, in the seller own words. Nothing about the search that got you here has any bearing on which one you end up with.
Open the large image for every candidate before you decide. It costs a minute and it is the single highest value minute in this process.
What each part of the page is actually telling you
The right hand column is the one worth reading twice.
| Block | Who wrote it | What it is worth |
|---|---|---|
| Photo strip | The seller | Sales photographs. Useful for spotting versions, not for judging colour. |
| Find Similar | PonyBuy | A shortcut to the same item at other sellers. Inherits the mistakes of the listing you start from. |
| Purchase record | The seller | Sales count plus average shipping, weight and volume. On the page we captured, three of those four fields were empty. |
| Size buttons | The seller | Whatever dimension the seller chose to publish. Here it was body weight in kilograms and nothing else. |
| Colour thumbnails | The seller | The real product choice. Names are in Chinese and get stored on your order that way. |
| Quantity and stock | The seller | A claim, not a reservation. Stock can be wrong and often is. |
| Leave a Message | PonyBuy | Up to 1000 characters attached to this item. The only place to put anything the options cannot express. |
| Image Memo | PonyBuy | An upload box for a reference picture. Its placeholder says to use it only for special requirements. |
| Disclaimer | PonyBuy | States that products come from third party platforms and are not sold directly by PonyBuy, and that using the service means accepting the risks named there. |
Size
A chart with one axis is a question, not an answer
The size buttons on this listing read 2XL Recommendation 130-145 kg, 3XL Recommendations 145-160 kg, 4XL Recommendation 160-170 kg and 5XL Recommendation 170-200 kg. That is the entire chart. No chest, no length, no shoulder, no sleeve.
Notice also that the numbers are strange for those labels. We are not going to guess whether the seller meant kilograms or something else, and neither should you. That uncertainty is exactly what the message box is for.
Two rules follow. First, when a chart gives one dimension, ask for the flat measurements before you pay. Second, decide in advance what you will do if nobody answers, because an unanswered question is not a reason to buy anyway.
The tool
Write the part the options cannot express
Pick what the page cannot say for you and this assembles a short, specific request, counts it against the 1000 character limit the box shows, and tells you where to put it. Everything it produces is plain English written by you, not a template PonyBuy recognises.
Three things worth doing before you press buy
All three take under a minute and all three are cheaper now than later.
Open every candidate swatch at full size
Thumbnails hide the difference between two shades and between two versions. The large image usually settles it in seconds.
Read the option line before you pay
On the order confirmation, under the English title, a grey line shows what you actually selected in the seller own words, for example 尺码:XL;颜色分类:Red. It is the last checkpoint that costs nothing.
Add Extra Photo on the order page
Extra Photo appears as a value added service on the order confirmation. If a detail genuinely decides whether you keep the item, buying photographs beats hoping the standard inspection catches it.
Assuming inspection will read your mind
Inspection checks the item against the order. A concern you never wrote down is not part of the order, so it is not part of the check.
When a photograph beats a sentence
Words are good at numbers, named colours and counts. Anything you could say twice and mean the same thing survives being written down, translated and read by someone else.
Shades do not survive that. Neither do print positions, hardware finishes, or which of two near identical versions you meant. For those, the upload box under the message field does the job in one move.
Both boxes say to use them only for special requirements. That is a reasonable request: a message on every order dilutes the ones that matter.
Frequently asked questions about the listing page
Can I choose a colour that is not in the swatches?
Not as an option. The swatches are what the seller listed. You can describe the colour in the message box or upload a reference image, and the buyer decides whether the seller can supply it. It is a request, not a guarantee.
The size chart only gives body weight. What do I do?
Ask for flat measurements in the message box before you pay, and decide in advance whether you would still buy without an answer. A chart with one axis means the seller has not published the others.
What is Image Memo for?
It is the upload box under the message field. Its own placeholder says to use it only when you have special requirements. A shade, a print position, or telling two near identical versions apart are all good reasons.
Is the stock number reliable?
It is the number the seller published. It is not a reservation, and it is not checked by anyone. Plan for your option being unavailable and say what should happen then.
Does the message reach the seller or PonyBuy?
It is attached to your order for the PonyBuy buyer, who is the person dealing with the seller. Write it in English, keep it short, and put the important sentence first.
